Full Time Job and a look into the future.

Well...looks like I've managed to acquire a full time job in this rough economy. In August I will be a Lead Associate at my bookstore. (aka textbook supervisor) No it's not my dream job but it has more responsibilities, better pay and benefits. Plus I like everyone there, so I couldn't ask for anything better. Does this mean I've given up on illustrating and designing for a living??...HELL NO!

If anything this job will give me the confidence, and funds needed to pursue my personal illustrative endeavors, and even though I have a full time job I still plan to do freelance. I don't see why I can't. My greatest inspiration for this is one of the managers. He manages two of the stores and teaches biology for a community college. Very impressive I think. So I figured if he could do that I can do my freelance after work.

As I keep saying life is an adventure. Life has given me this duty and who knows where it might lead, who I might meet and what I might do, but in the end I will have no fears or regrets.

Life in general

I keep forgetting i have a blog here.  Well...what have i been up to.  First and foremost i quit the internship.  Discovered that advertising wasn't really what I wanted to get into.  Also figured i did not want to wait up till the wee hours in the morning to kern type, do page layout, or writing commercials.  I need something more illustratively creative.  So what am I doing. Well I'm looking for a better paying job than what I have plus interning at a comic book company in san antonio named Antarctic Press.  It's a cool place. Learning the in and outs of comics.  Some parts seem tedious but I love it anyway cause it's comics.

Recently I did the following digital paintings for their upcoming Gold digger annual.  The response was pretty good.  Maybe this will lead to something. They all are great people. Even the other interns who are still going to school.  I feel so damn old around them.  Ah well. So till the next grand adventure. Adios.
